UC 112 Shortly after the events of Rain over Deimos/Clash at Deimos ...
The Federation battlegroup that had been sent to Mars was feeling the pressure at the gates of Deimos. Their flagship- The Ra Cailum class Villa was reported to be sunk, afrer being struck by several anti ship missiles. Admiral Ronan Mahoney had been confirmed KIA, struck down by a Martian pilot mere minutes prior to the sinking of his vessel. Ronan's direct second in command had also been taken prisoner which left the remaining forces operating in the area directionless. There were hundreds of Federation personal now stranded in the combat zone which had no option but surrender and become prisoners of war.
Commodore Marina Von Witzland aboard her cruiser the Sussex sent the order for a general retreat. All friendly mobile suits were to return to the closest ship and fall back to their staging areas. The Sussex would provide rear guard duties, covering all the damaged mobile suits returning from their assault on Deimos. The Ovation Gundam would be greeted by a green and dark gray MP Nu Gundam, it's pilot advising Persephone she could land back at the Sussex if she so desired. There were no shortage of fresh mobile suits ready to cover their retreat but they would haven never been enough to secure the entire lunar fortress and it's surrounding airspace.
Marina would sumon a briefing where the rest of her surviving pilot and officer would discuss the next course of action. She had no intention of going back to their airspace and wasn't even going to report Ronan's demise right away. Her priority right now was getting out of this airspace alive and with as many of her forces intact even if it meant working with Persephone who she wasn't feeling particularly fond of. Ever since they laid eyes on each other, Marina couldn't shake the feeling she had to keep that girl at arms length.
Right now her forces were limited to the Sussex, the Clop class Hidalgo and three Salamis Kais with added hangars. Between all these ships they had about a dozen mobile suits in operational condition but most would need some quick repairs.
" Ladies and gentlemen. I am afraid there's another battle ahead of us before we even consider resting." The commodore would adress everypne in the briefing room, including the pilots who had arrived from the Hidalgo recently. The screen behind her would display the schematics of this EF asteroid depot which had been recently captured by the Martians. " We don't know how many suits they have on station but we need to establish a foot hole. She had mentioned this base to Ronan but he had chosen to commit to a grand Deimos offensive operation before diverting resources liberating a glorified storage depot in the middle of nowhere.

Savino Trimarchi sat quietly in the brig with one arm draped over his knee as he stared at a wall. He had been too late. Ronan was dead, and the Rozen Knight had gotten his way. After comming too late to save them, his choice rendered meaningless he had found his way to Marina's ship and signalled his surrender. He had been hesitant, but it was his choice for once. He had wondered if Mariba recalled him from so long ago from before he had become so ensnared by Zeon. He had a lot to think about now, and a lot more to decide. For the first time in awhile, he felt lost.
---
Eamon Mahoney was in the briefing room towards the back. When he had heard the knews he could hardly believe it. He hadn't been on the best of terms with his old man, but he never thought he would die so suddenly like that. His complacent father had come out of self imposed retirement in the corner of South East Asia to end Zeon and to save him. He didnt know how to feel about that. It felt like he had been the one to truly stagnate. He had simply listened for a moment, fidgeting as she told them what they were to do. He couldn't contain his thoughts and stood up."Will this be so we can have a better foothold for staging another assault? Also, what is the plan of attack?" He said sounding both frustrated and eager. He desperately wanted another go at Deimos, but he knew that a better foothold was needed so all he could do was ask if this was so they could get another go at it.

Ryota Sahashi had been caught off guard when he received the signal to retreat, not even realizing how focused he'd been on the fight he was in. Despite how much he felt like he was struggling against his opponent, he'd been ready to keep fighting even with his mobile suit in the state it was in. But he did as he was told when he was told to cover Salome while she got Crisanto out of there. "Yes, ma'am," he quickly replied, disengaging from the fight he'd been in to make his way over to the two. Once the two were in Salome's Zeta Plus, he made his way back to the Sussex with the rest of the patrol.
Along the way, he was looking around at the different warnings all over his screen about the damage his Jesta Cannon had taken. The Jabber he'd been riding was scrap, along with his mobile suit's feet. And one of the two heavy weapons in its backpack had been totally disabled and badly damaged. The Federation pilot couldn't help being frustrated at how little he'd been able to do against his opponent. He remained on edge as they made their way back to the Sussex, happy for the netting and zero gravity when it came to docking his Jesta Cannon.
---
Ryota reported to the briefing, standing in the crowd of pilots and officers, as they were informed they weren't done fighting. But now they would be trying to take back an asteroid depot from the Martians. The green-haired young man glanced around at the other pilots, several of which he didn't recognize. He was already itching to get to the depot and take it back, still irritated by the results of his patrol.

Standing there was a mix of emotions. Gratitude that he was still living, and back safely among his allies rather than stranded in outer space. He knew how dangerous it must have been for Salome to retrieve him. His eyes drifted to her now, glad that she had stayed beside him. Hers was one of too few familiar faces in this hall after their recent defeats. That, of course, was the other emotion. Shame. If only they--if only he--had fought better, perhaps their offensive could have been a success. Their families were counting on them for protection from Zeon. What did they have to show for it? But then, finally there was determination. That the next battle would be different. That they could redeem themselves. Too many people were counting on them to do anything else.
Von Witzland was up at the podium outlining exactly that. Apparently, they would be trying to seize an asteroid depot. One of their own, apparently, that Zeon had captured. Their job was to take it back. Although their commander wasn't saying so, Crisanto assumed that everyone could understand the obvious contingency. If they couldn't regain access to the supplies, at the very least they could deny them to Zeon. He listened carefully, trying to prepare himself.

" This will be a text book operation. Mongoose will take care of the reconnaissance supported by Magic." Mongoose had been the name given to Crisanto and Salome two ship Zeta Plus element. Magic was their EWAC Jesta with Lt.commander Brenda Cantrell at the helm. Marina hoped her explanation would suffice to answer Eamon's first question.
" I want you to sweep that rock from top to bottom but don't engage unnecessarily. weapons tight until I authorize it. Once all of their ships or strongpoints are accounted for we'll commence a preliminary bombardment to soften them up courtesy of our guns. We'll then send a strike team composed of Golem and Brawler to engage and retake the asteroid." Golem and Brawler were teams composed of Gustav Karls, Rezels and supported by Ryota's Jesta Cannon.
It had taken an entire day to fix the damage sustained by Ryota's Jesta Cannon. Crisanto's Zeta Plus had been written off but he had been quickly assigned another model to replace the lost one. " We need a tangible base of operations and a dock where we can more easily repair any damage what's left of the battle group takes." This asteroid had a port large enough to fit all of their cruisers.
" Leaving it on the Martian hands is undesirable, we gain nothing by letting them retain control of it. Think of this as a consolation price for the time being." Of course Marina knew it would serve as a necessary staging area for later counter attacks. " Obviously we are going to be prepared for any last minute reinforcements on their part, remember our priority is taking that rock first, we don't have to concern ourselves taking prisoners." Marina had practically given the permission to act as executioners to lessen the strain n their logistics.
---
The briefing would end after a few more minutes, all pilots being instructed to head to the hangar and await for deployment. Naturally, Salome would stick to her partner noticing he seemed in an awfully sulky mood. " Even the best pilots lose mobile suits from time to time. Try to make this new one last you a little bit longer, ok?" She would attempt to tease him in a light hearted tone which was hard to believe at first considering her coarse personality.
As instructed they would be the first ones to be given the order to launch once they had arrived at the operation's area.

Persephone hand looked to the Green MP Nu Gundam. Staring for a little too long as she remarked to herself how it reminded her of a zeon captured RX-78 that had been envisioned by an artist shortly after the end of the one year war. She did oblige the pilots direction and relocated. ---
Eventually Persephone arrived to the briefing effectivly after it was concluded and the assembled pilots and staff were disseminating back into the crew. She was emotionally numb for the momment and still wore her pilots suit sans the helmet.

"Are you admitting I'm the best now?" he answered, smiling.
He knew how unusual this was for Salome. Almost amazing as an interpersonal gesture as her rescue had been a flight maneuver. One more reminder of how much he'd come to appreciate and rely on her in their time together. All the better that they were back out on another mission together. They flew in tight formation, a vanguard scouting the area around the asteroid before the big offensive. Seeing something light up on his long range scanner, he opened his private comm line to her.
" You see that? Forty degrees of my starboard side. Two Musaka on my long range scanners" he said.

Even though he'd spent most of the time he'd been on the Sussex trying to unwind while not in meetings, Ryota was surprisingly quiet as he made his way to the hangar in his pilot suit once the briefing was over. He got a small grin on his face when he looked up at his Jesta Cannon, seeing that the damage he'd taken during his fight against that Kshatriya had been repaired. The green-haired teen was determined to make sure that didn't happen again.
He was in his cockpit, getting ready, when he watched as Salome and Crisanto launched first to take care of their reconnaissance mission. Ryota breathed slowly, looking down at his controls as he got himself situated. Before long, he was given the order to launch along with Golem and Brawler. And soon, he was launching out into space with them, seeing the asteroid depot they were going to take back from Zeon up ahead.
Once all of them had launched and the reconnaissance mission had been completed, they were given permission to engage. Ryota had a tight grip on his controls as he followed the Gustav Karls and Rezels, quickly approaching the asteroid. He, along with the other pilots, listened as they were told what Crisanto and Salome had seen, which helped them to determine the best spot to strike first. As soon as the leader of the strike team gave the word, everyone in it opened fire on the enemy mobile suits. Ryota moved up closer to the strike team for long enough to fire off several of the missiles his Jesta Cannon was equipped with, aiming at the zeon suits he could see before falling back. It was his job to keep an eye on the members of the strike team and make sure none of them got overwhelmed.

Eamon sat snugly in the cockpit of his ReZEL having rushed to it following the briefing. With his grip firmly on the controls he watched Ryota launch. He waited a few moments after watching them disappear from his vision. After that, he positioned the ReZEL onto the cockpit and locked it into place."Ready to launch." he said before then being forced back into his pilot seat. The corridor rushing past him and then space rushed to meet him. Touching off from the cockpit he found himself propelled forward through space behind his group. From there, he transformed his mobile suit into wave rider mode."If any of you need a ride, hop on." he said as he adjusted his grip ready to head in with the strike team.

" Affirmative." Salome's Zeta Plus remained close by, ready to confirm a positive ID on those hostile cruisers. This information was sent to their EWAC Jesta which in turn would also relay targeting information back to their ships. Her Zeta Plus would continue alongside Crisanto's, locating what looked like strong points in the Asteroid main entrances. For good measure these were also scanned and given secondary priority. It was then that an alarm went off on board the Zeta Plus, a radar lock on from the two ships who had begun deploying their own mobile suits. The two Musaka's would fire missiles while launching their own detachment of RF Dom and Gelgoogs that would attempt to corner the nimble recon units.
" They are trying to surround us!" Salome would inform, seeing a clear pattern as the eight mobile suits split in an attempt to flank them. Naturally, they'd begun to come under fire, shells from Dom's bazookas and beam rifle blasts attempting to catch them. Salome was an expert at evasive maneuvers but she couldn't escape all the shrapnel from an exploding shell. Damage taken was minimal since she'd been far away enough t avoid being torn to shreds to begin with.
Things would have made a turn for the worst if it wasn't for Ryota's Jesta Cannon suppressing these attackers with a barrage of missiles. The RF Dom and Gelgoog would get pummeled by the barrage of missiles, giving their strike team the opening they needed to obliterate that token resistance.
------
Marina sat in the Sussex bridge, monitoring the entire operation from the command chair. " Open fire with our forward guns. Target that Musaka at our 10 o'clock." Since this cruiser still used mega particle guns her artillery officers did not have to do as much calculations to score a direct hit on target. The guns of the Hdalgo had also been trained on that same Musaka, roaring to life after the Sussex had opened fire sending a large purple blast that would smash the asteroid cover.

Eamon sharply gripped his control strick and pumped the throttled and he put himself into an barrel roll. He felt his body sway from one side to thhe other as the straps kept him in place. A RF Gelgoog had locked onto im, making a straight B line for his unit. It's mono eye glared as it raised one arm and pointed it at him. Suddenly, it launched two missiles. Their red glare visible from his cockpit, and thus prompting the maneuver from him. Looking up in the midst of the roll, he saw one of the missiles just barrel pass by him."Alright you Zeek! You want a piece of me? Come and get it!" Eamon shouted as he lined up a shot from his beam rifle while in wave rifle mode.
He squinted one eye, and fired sending a three round burst which he adjusted for as he fired. The first beam shot went over the right shoulder of the RF Gelgoog, while the next his the shoulder and then the third hit the chest. The RF Gelgoog began to roll and struggle a bit. He hadn't managed to take it out just yet, and it was still coming at him. They were not within spitting distance, and it began to raise it's beam rifle.
The first shot grazed him leaving a long smouldering black mark while the next one hit more directly. The Gundarium molting for a moment before cooling as he passed the Gelgoog overhead. Eamon pulled back on the throttle and began to turn around. This way e could get another pass on the Gelgoog. Though it would be another head on, as the Gelgoog managed to turn all the way around as he got around for another pass.
Before the Gelgoog could get another shot off, he fired. The first beam hitting the head, then the next one, and finally the last one hit the neck. The gelgoog blinded for the moment had to rely on the lower resolution backup cameras. But it was too late, as now Eamon got a clear shot on the chockpit, and took advantage of it. THe Gelgoog exploding.

Ryota seemed to be taking the role he'd been given on this mission surprisingly seriously, especially for him. He was doing his best to keep an eye on all of the Federation mobile suits that were out in the battlefield, making sure none of them were getting overwhelmed by any enemy suits. They were pounding on the RF Doms and Gelgoogs coming from the Musaka's, but they weren't just going to give up the asteroid base to them.
With him staying a little ways back from the others, giving them covering fire or taking out suits that were trying to flank the other Federation pilots, it seemed he'd gotten a bit of a target on his back. He spotted an RF Dom making its way toward him, and glared a little as he started aiming a little. He started moving as well, evading fire from the Dom before he pulled the trigger for his Machine Cannon, letting it wind up before it started firing back at his enemy, doing his best to tear it apart so it wouldn't cause any kind of problems.
As he was taking out the Dom, Ryota saw that the Sussex and Hidalgo were firing on one of the Musakas. He wondered if repositioned himself, moving a little closer to the other Musaka, before he started aiming at it while switching over to his Energy Cannon. If he could damage it enough, it could keep them from trying to send out more mobile suits to fight them off. Once his shot was lined up, Ryota fired on the Musaka with the Energy Cannon. The blast was strong enough to rock him back, using his Jesta Cannon's thrusters to stabilize himself.

Within the hangar of the Hidalgo, Henry would be assessing the damage his ZZ Vier had sustained form the failed assault, it was pretty beaten, but still kicking, he ya shears of what was going down and proceeded ahead of the game and went to oversee the repairs of the Gundam, it was being refitted for the combat ahead, instead of a beam rifle this time, it was equipped with an Anti-Material Rifle, heavy duty, a divider shield that had a built in beam cannon, limited use, and 6x beam sabers, two on the hips, two in the shoulder plates, and two in the arm compartments.
He would wipe sweat off his brow as he would enter the cockpit and begin to check the overall systems of the monitor and controls, it was all fine and dandy, but wires were tangled now and he had to untangle the mess they became. "Damn, we could’ve had those bastards, but that’s their turf, they know it better than us, hey ZZ, don’t be giving up on me anytime soon, I need ya, we’re not finished with those Martians yet."

From the Sussex's bridge, Commodore Von Witzland coordinated the main offensive effort. It seemed those two Musaka's were the only ships defending the asteroid from the outside. It didn't take an awful lot for the Rezels and the rest of the mobile suits to wipe out what was left.
That brief of fire was all it took to obliterate the Martians but there was no telling yet how many garrisoned the asteroid base itself. The answer to that questioned was answered 10 minutes later when the forward mobile suits received a message from the asteroid staff, a Martian lieutenant that was willing to surrender seeing they had no way to fend off half a dozen Federation warships on their own. From the sounds of it no reinforcements were coming anytime soon.
" Kill them all if you deem it necessary, I don't care." Marina would instruct her pilots. There was zero incentive to be taking prisoners at this point. Time was short and she would rather spend that time increasing their defenses around this asteroid. Inside the asteroid itself two more Musaka cruisers were docked albeit lacking crews. Their crews were in Deimos, their transport to this outpost postponed after the Federation offensive.
---
Henry's ZZ was given clearance to launch from Lt. commander Carolina herself. He was simply to conduct patrols outside the perimeter since the main force commanded by her aunt was already seizing control of the asteroid itself. This will be his duty for the next 72 hours. The ZZ was perfectly able to hold back a larger force which made it ideal for this task of covering a main thrust. Of course he wasn't launching alone with Eva Angelina MP Nu joining in his formation.
" No telling what we might be facing. Whatever it is we have to make sure they can't get through." This asteroid was the only ground that stood between them and martian controlled airspace.

Henry would enter the ZZ, getting the order to head on patrol was good enough for him, he’d wanted to do something and if it meant partnering up with Lt. Eva, it was bound to be not boring. He had replaced the extra Beam Sabers with a Mega Bazooka, it would be equipped to the left of the Gundam’s back and even shiftable with the G-Fortress form, he had anticipated it would be useful against a mass or Mars Zeon’s mobile suit did they were to assault him and the Lt. on their patrol, never better to be safe than sorry with what happened on Mars.
He would ready the ZZ Vier for launch as it would be transported to the launch platform and its footing would be firm on its panel, a semi-crouched position would allow it to have access through the launch tunnel as he sat ready to go. "Henry Namánga, ZZ Gundam Vier ready time launch!"
