" Good evening, Marten!" Miss Chambers greeted the young man with a polite smile, waving her hand for him to draw closer.
Earlier during the day, Marten had been visited by the head of the Slater's family security- a jolly Austrian fellow that went by the name of Hermann Ziegler. He handed the German the keys of his own company BMW X5 hybrid in the color of his choosing. Along with the keys he was given a company credit card he was to use for the fuel expenses and whatever maintenance required was to be handled by the dealership. Hermann also gave him a HK USP with two magazines, holster and a few boxes of ammo along with his carry permit.

Marten walked down the central stairwell, trying to get used to the feeling of the compact pistol strapped to the side of his chest as he did so. He tugged lightly on the lower edge of his suit jacket as he reached the bottom step.
He gave the blonde a slight bow and straightened. “Good evening, Miss Chambers. How was work today? I know you just got back but I was wondering if you would be interested in accompanying me for dinner.”

" I was hoping you'd ask. It would be my pleasure to accompany you." Antoinette was a little tired, having no intention of playing hard to get since the attraction was mutual. " Work was eventful as always." The short haired blond added.
In a matter of moments she got in the passenger seat of his car, asking Marten what he was in the mood for tonight.

“Honestly, I could go for something casual. You could probably say ‘relaxed’ is a good word. Maybe it’s something about the architecture the Slaters favor, but I could go for something less...” he paused and sucked at his lip, struggling to find the way to describe it in English. “Less... Sterile? Wood counters, slightly tacky decor... You could say I was possibly wanting bar food or something. Point is I could honestly go for a hamburger or something like that.”
He clicked his tongue against his teeth and grinned slightly. “While the idea of fish and chips is appealing, that seems more like a midday food.”

" It's always a good time to have fish and chips but if burgers are what you are looking for I know a few place that sell fairly decent ones at not eye-gouging prices." Following her directions, Antoinette and Marten would end up at an Irish pub of all places somewhere in Westside london, just 10 minutes away from their apartment building.
" I'll take a veal sandwich with fries." Being the lady at the table she ordered first, accompanying it with a glass of light beer. The place was certainly more or less what Marten wanted to see. Old fashioned and if it wasn't the current year there would be ashtrays at every table.

Marten ordered the veal sandwich as well, and a pint of a strong but not-overpowering beer. He looked around the place and smiled slightly, finding the place's atmosphere perfect. He had removed his jacket and undid the top button of his shirt, not having bothered to undress since the plain had landed. "Well Antoinette you have excellent taste. I hadn't sat down in somewhere like this in a long time. If we didn't have to drive then I could probably be talked into staying right here and drinking more than I used to." he said, turning back towards her and smiling. An eyebrow raised to match the expression. "Wouldn't want to show up to my first day on the job with a hangover now would I?"
This place was perfect. Instead of the nearly sterile nature of the offices and even the apartments he had set up in, this place felt like it was actually lived in. Not only in the clientele but the place itself. There seemed to be a pulse to the place where he hadn't really felt one for the last couple of days. Rather than wearing his hair shaggy like he normally did it was instead slicked back and combed, making himself look a lot nicer than he had in the last couple days. "It's a little relieving to be someplace that doesn't feel like it stepped out of some kind of sci-fi story."

" I believe the two of us have to be up very early tomorrow, otherwise I would be delighted to accompany you for a few rounds. I don't drink too much so you can count on me to drive us home safely." Antoinette wasn't at all opposed to Marten's proposal, if anything she welcomed his company having grown a little weary of her employer constantly breathing down her neck.
His comment on the company minimalist art deco style made her display a toothy grin followed by a soft giggle.
A server arrived with their drinks before she could respond. " Thank you."
The elegantly dressed blond would clink her glass against Marten's darker brew, taking a good sip afterwards.
" it's been so long since I've been here. Marina only wants to go eat Chinese and breaded fish. I love seafood myself but even I desire a change of scenery every now and then." Antoinette was often stuck basking in her direct superior's present since Mr. Slater was never around.
" I wouldnt mind showing you my apartment. You might find my sense of decoration a little more... Cozy."

Marten held his glass and took a long drink of his beverage. It was a local brew he had read about before and one that he found himself quite fond of. It wasn't as bitter as you would expect from a dark beer nor quite as earthy either. All told it was surprisingly pleasant.
"Isn't that awfully forward for a first night out?' he asked and raised an eyebrow. After a moment he chuckled and nodded in agreement. "I am not going to object at all, however; so I accept your proposal." It had been a while since he had actually had any close female company. His last relationship had not ended well and he had chosen to remain to himself for a while, enjoying the uncommitted lifestyle for a few months before eventually getting bored.
Marten himself was not the type to often eat seafood, finding red meats to be more common in his diet. "Chinese food is best served from buffets, if you ask me. What is actually found in sit down restaurants is nice but I don't often find it enough to wait on if dining solo." He was actually something of a heavy eater even though he was mostly muscle.

" We live in the same building, we are practically roomates already so there's nothing shameful in showing you my accommodations." Antoinette could see why her approach might have been seen as too straightforward but she care little about it.
Their meal would arriva before too long and the flirting would continue until well after the two were done taking the last bite.
" I am a little envious since you are going to get a more flexible schedule that being said i've heard being an Slater bodyguard is not exactly a walk in the park." Since she was Marina's secretary she had a lot of insights on the way her family operated. Antoinette talked a little roe about Marina's son Julius who would be no doubt the focus of Marten's efforts.

Marten listened to her talk about the young man who was invariably going to be the main focus of his efforts and nodded slowly, paying attention and taking mental notes as he followed along. The mention of an arranged marriage cased a rainbow eyebrow but he continued to listen attentively. It was obvious that Antionette had been looking for an ear for a while now whether she knew it or not.
Once she was done he smiled reassuringly and went to start the conversation back to the original topic, raising a second, lighter beer to his lips. This one had a sweeter, honey like taste and he almost preferred it to the dark one. “I must admit that my comment about showing me your room had been meant to be something like a joke, so forgive me if I had insulted you.”
