Eamon himself would take a seat and make himself comfortable."It's alright... and I understand." he said with a pause."Where would you like me to start? Before or after I entered Mars atmosphere?" he asked knowing that there was a lot to go over.

" How easy was it to bypass Deimos itself?" Sofia had read in one report that the Edelweiss Lotus squadron had sank a few Martian Cruisers to blow a hole in their outer ring of defense.

"From the start then..." Eamon said with a slight pause thinking back."It wasn't what I would call easy. They managed to ambush us with some old battleship. I think it was a Gwazine. Hid it behind the defensive cluster and brought it out last minute. This was after they hit us with a wave of mobile suits. One from the front, and one from the flank. They were not able to get anti ship missiles through however. All in all we made it through with minimal causalities and blasted our way through to the other side." he said with a pause remembering the battle."After that we were tailed by a Sadalahn-class which kept trying to force us into the atmosphere. Thats when the ground assault force launched."

" Hmmm..." Sofia listened attentively to every word. According to Eamon the Martians weren't exactly making it easy for them. From what she heard and seen the fighting had been fierce and if they managed to force the Edelweiss to enter Mars atmosphere it was unlikely the ship would have made it out.
" How would you rate Commodore Von Witzland overall command?" This were the type of questions that Sofia preferred to adress in private.

Eamon didn't reply for a moment."She knows what she is doing. Overall she was effective." Eamon said as he thought is over a moment more."She would set about a task, and then carry it out. No fooling around ya know? I dont think the zeeks knew what hit them." he said tapping the arm rest for a moment."But... At times some us felt she was reckless..."

" Eamon ... " Sofia would look deeply into his eyes. She would lean towards him, coming awfully close to him before almost whispering " Your father seems to think Marina Von Witzland is a traitor to the Federation after seeing the evidence the Martians gave out."
" To be completely honest with you I don't really care if she is a traitor or not. Marina Von Witzland saved my life many years ago, the time has come for me to repay my debt. You served under her command, I am sure you know what I am talking about." Sofia knew that she was breaking a direct order imposed by a superior by telling the recently promoted Lt. Commander this.

Eamon looked back into Sofia's eyes after a momentary blink noticing how closely she leaned into him. He couldn't look away, and he didn't lean away in the same breath. However, upon hearing what Sofia had to say he was a bit shocked to hear it."A traitor?" he asked not understanding how his father could come to such a conclusion."There has to be a mistake... The martians are obviously liars!" he said with a shake of his head not liking the sounds of this."She put her life on the line same as the grunts. A traitor wouldn't do that to fight the Zeons." he said."My father really is a fool..." he added with a sigh."How do we convince him?"

“You what?!” Jacob exclaimed with a start as he looked at the purple haired communications officer. It had been a few hours since he had woken up from being knocked unconscious during the scrufle with the second F90 model and already he felt ready to leave the infirmary. The doctor’s were being difficult and wanted to keep him there for observation but the news that the Zeons claimed that the admiral who had lead the first wave of the attack was a fractor was more than enough to get him motivated.
“You know my stance on authority that hasn’t earned it, but this is a little far fetched. A newly promoted admiral abandoning their post as well as being a traitor all in one go seems unbelievable... but there’s no better position for someone who doesn’t want to be found to turn tail and run.” He sighed and looked at the fruit that had been brought for him. The news was hard to believe, especially coming from the enemy. “Brenda, do me a favor and try and let me speak to the rear admiral. The sooner I can get cleared for duty the better. Might as well get the tongue lashing over with.”

" I don't know if we would be able to convince your father. In the end he'll want to come to his own conclusions, however I don't see it with good eyes how the Martians are trying to cast suspicions elsewhere, we shouldn't trust them to speak the truth." Sofia was not only thrilled the enemy was making defamatory claims but also that her superiors were considering acting upon them.
---
" This whole thing stinks. If you ask me the Martians are just trying to save their asses." Brenda had heard the rumors, casually discarding them as blatant lies. The claims made little to no sense since everyone who knew Marina Von Witzland could tell that as much of a bitch as she was commiting high treason was stretching it.
" If that woman seriously considered and went through with betraying the Federation then we must be in the wrong line of work."

"Those Zeon pricks cannot be trusted as far as you can throw them! The years of sitting behind a desk in south east asia must of rotted his brain." Eamon said with a shake of his head."In fact, they are probably setting up an ambush as we speak. After we disabled their little rail gun they wanted revenge." Eamon stated knowing that the leader of the railgun project had taken great exception to what they had done."It just does not add up."

Jacob had his own opinions on the Federation and his own thoughts on how the government was run but he made it a point to keep his own opinions out of the limelight. He looked at Brenda and there was a flicker of a smirk on his face but it was hard to read precisely what emotion was behind it. “Right now if she did and why aren’t things for us to think about. We have a hostile planet to crack and the source of this information isn’t about to stand down or declare ceasefire.”
He sighed and rested his chin on one hand. I am curious to see if those Zeons kept the data records of the F90 intact. Just to see if there’s anything that doesn’t line up with the incident report.”
