Her vacation time was over with and things returned to the normal hustle and bustle of military life. Elfriede father though had one last surprise for her before she left back to what ever front Mars had on there plate next. Things however had turned out to be quiet, and the surprise of her father was that the family heirloom an Old MS-19 Dolmel had been chosen for the refinement project. According to the technicians delegated to the what was now code named the OMS-19 RF Dolmel. The suit had higher specs then the gelgoog of the one year war and had been only given to a few ace pilots. There family probably had the only one in existence, but further more they had discovered the suit was more of a close combat variant of the MS-18 kampfer; the suit used the same frame as the kampfer. They also informed her that despite the overhauls to the suit over the years the frame wouldn't be able to handle the strain of another overhaul.
In short they were going to have and build the suit from the ground up with a new frame. This got many of the technician's rather excited as they would be able to put what they had learned from the F90 into practice. Since the dolmel had all ready high specs for its time, being produced in the later parts of the one year war. The technicians were certain they could create something that even surpassed the federations current F90 models. Elfriede stood there looking up at the mobile weapon as painters began to paint the suits armor, changing it from the dull factory grey into her families ancestral colors. At the same time an enthusiastic tech was rambling off the suits specs to her. Apparently the higher ups had decided to hand back the F90 to the federation and it was currently being ready to be shipped back to them. Elfriede could just stand there and wonder if the past was going to repeat itself on mars.

Chief of engineers Jane Mason had been approached one day with a very unique request for a new model of mobile suit. The RF Dolmel would be a blank canvas in which they would implement all the lessons and new technologies they copied from the F90 unit 2 along with other fully matured domestic technologies. It had taken Jane's engineering team three months to complete this first one of a kind mobile suit based on the specifications given to her by the head of the Graves family, according to him this was going to be a gift for her daughter Elfriede who had earned that right on the battlefield.
" Lt. Commander Graves, it's an honor to meet you." The purple haired, work coverall wearing engineer walked up to the stern looking heiress of this piece of legacy, leisurely smoking a strong smelling herbal blend out of an stylish wooden pipe.
" I trust you will take good care of this RF Dolmel. We have optimized it for speedy attacks and even included or own version of unit 2 combat AI, it should make operating the different weapon systems while on the move so much easier." Unsurprisingly, the RF Dolmel had been made to be compatible with all current and planned Martian weapons enabling it to be used in a variety of operations.

Elfriede still had problems accepting her father had enough clout with in mars military to issue the production of a new mobile suit. She was half wondering if her joint investigation with Mar's Intelligence didn't play a roll in it. Apparently the group had found evidence that suggested Commodore Marina Von Witzland was working with the federation. They had found the original Helena Moritz fortunately alive, and now recovering with her family. It had overall caused a shake down of Mar's military. Her thoughts were interrupted by one of the mechanics addressing her. "Are you stoned? Never mind I don't want to know." The smell of what ever she was smoking was strong though, all most nauseously so. What peeked her interest was the mention of the F90s combat AI. She had piloted the F90 unit 2 once and had noticed the suit acted differently. "What exactly do we know about Unit 2 combat AI?" It would help if she knew what she was dealing with.

" Basically, the AI takes over the maneuvering of the unit within the programmed parameters making it so the pilot can focus on operating the weapon systems. It's just like having a Co-pilot." Jane explained as briefly and plain as she could, knowing Elfriede didn't have the time for long winded shop talk, indeed the young officer didn't seem used at all to the smell of her particular choice of vice. It was no wonder her father was that ironclad instructor.
" You've handled that Gundam before so I am sure you'll appreciate we made this one perform just as smoothly, of course do be aware the extra performance comes with the cost of an increased propellant consumption. Just make sure to top it off and keep it that way." Compared to the Zulus, this RF Dolmel consumed as much fuel for it's boosters in half the time which hampered its range unless extra tanks were attached, thankfully it had connectors on the backpack to carry up to three of such containers and unlike the Federation miniature suits it's armor was not paper thin either. As nimble and maneuverable miniature suits were they certainly suffered when it came to having reliable means of protection in case their shields were compromised.

Elfriede looked at the woman when she mentioned the increased propellant cost of the mobile suit. It would explain why only a limited number had been produced back during the one year war, and why even fewer of them lasted to this modern day. "Yes, and it felt like I was wrestling the suit for which direction to go in. When we did agree on a direction the amount of G forces put on me was difficult. Have you done anything to counter the increased G force on the pilots body from the increase in the suits reaction time?" The dolmel was shaping up to be more of a wild horse then the F90 Gundam unit 2 had been.

“We’ve begun to try something new for mobile suits. By combining limiters and a low count of psychoframe panels we have begun testing a prototype system that is designed to improve overall piloting quality. We call it the ‘bio-sensor’. It’s a working prototype but rest assured there’s won’t be any interference with the AI or the piloting system.”
The speaker was a young man dressed in a pilot’s uniform with long but well kept hair that hung loosely over his shoulders. He approached the scientist, took her pipe for a moment to get a tug and returned it with a digital pad. “Here’s my assessment of that prototype you requested. I thought now would be the best time to give you this while you’ve still got momentum.”

" You're going to have to wear an specialized type of suit to reduce the G loads in your body." Jane casually shrugged while taking a full drag off her curious wooden pipe. And then came Tenrov with the data she'd asked him to get from the RF Efreet.
" I see, good job." They were all convinced this biosensor would be quite the breakthrough tech that might allow Mars to gain the upper hand on the battle field.

They had been apparently thinking a few steps ahead when it came to the pilot's safety. That was good at least. Though the inclusion of what they were talking about a new system call ed a bio sensor. The name sounded familiar to elfriede. She had spent nights doing research on the federation machines and there lineage especially the FAZZ units that had given her an issue in a previous skirmish. "That name sounds familiar. If I remember my research right the bio sensor was first used in the Anti Earth Union Groups Zeta Gundam, and then in there Double Zeta Gundam. However isn't that a device meant to be used by newtypes?" She was a bit concerned that they were putting unnecessary equipment into the RF Dolmel that couldn't be used. "I guess I should try on this pilot suit of yours to see if it fits." She added unsure if the suit would need any adjustments made to it.

The blue haired ensign ‘err’ed for a moment and ran a hand through his messy hair before giving Elfriede a wry, toothy grin. “Well that’s the thing. Remember those limiters I mentioned? The rub is about that.” He looked at the chief engineer and chuckled before turning his attention back to the lieutenant commander.
“The trick with this system isn’t something you may like but long story short, rather than using the biosensor to pull something extra out of the suit it is there to more or less hold it back, for the moment. Don’t want some oldtype getting over excited at the controls of a machine that they might just not be able to handle and crash headlong into a colony before they react. It’s like comparing a fighter from the end of the second world war with an F-16, if you know what that is.”
