A day after asking for favors...
Marina herself had booked an appointment with Ayla in the afternoon to discuss matters more privately. The exiled commander now donned a navy blue business woman get up, a cream colored blouse under the vest she was wearing. Women her age had to dress conservatively after all, that silvery hair neatly tied up. Marina might have been an officer for the longest time but she always tried to keep a luxurious life style even during operations.
" I wish to thank you for allowing us to stay however there are a few things the two of us need to go over." Not the type of woman to question someone's kindness, Marina felt obliged to clear a few doubts before proceeding.

Ayla arranged for meeting Marina in her working office.
It was a much smaller room when compared to the dining hall they first met in, and yet it was cozier somehow. Expensive wood covering the walls, expensive carved furniture, leather chairs, paintings, a crystal chandelier above one's heads, and a large window with a gorgeous view of space and planets. In the middle of all of this was the mistress of the household, writing orders and letters using an out-fashioned pen and paper. She was expecting Marina to arrive, and lifted her eyes up from the writing as soon as she did.
"Ah, there you are, Marina. Looking so sharp in that uniform. It suits you~" - Ayla said in that sing a song manner before offering the woman to sit in a chair opposite to herself.
"Please, tell me what troubles you." - she hummed, hand briefly returning to writing a letter.

Not a stranger to luxury, Marina would simply sit down in the chair closest to Ayla's desk. " I am going to take a trip to the moon with a select group of men. Our plan is to steal the Federation flag ship: The General Revil." Fully aware that her host was not an expert on such matters she would slide a holographic tablet with the schematics of said ship. After serving the Federation for a few decades she knew the insides and outs of the naval yard where that ship was docked. " With the Federation busy on Mars we should have a much easier time mopping up whoever is sent after us. Once the heat dies down we'll make our way here with our new price in tow. It would not only be a symbolic gesture but also bolster our private fleet. Speaking of which, two cruisers from Mars arrived the other day. These people are loyal to me and will take care of defending that asteroid you so kindly lend us." Since Ayla was their supporter she was in the right to know their short term plans.

Ayla quirked an eyebrow, when Marina had laid out her... rather grandiose plans. These were... unexpected. And much too sudden. She glanced over the holographic schematics of the ship that the woman sought to acquire. Not that it mattered much. It was a big ship, with guns, photon torpedoes, shields, and engines. What Ayla saw in it was the need for crewing, supplying, and maintenance costs. Her lips stretched out in a smile.
"You are quite in your schemes, it seems. But what you just informed me of worries me to a great degree."
She clasps her hands together, fingers intertwined.
"You do realize that trying to steal the Federation's flagship from under their noses is equal to a declaration of war? Right now, entangled with Zeon, they may not have the desire to go after you. The prototype you helped steal has long since been in Zeon's possession, and what little remained of your fleet poses no threat to them... yet."
Ayla's eyes reflected the light, momentarily.
"But if you strike a target that important, they would be obliged to treat you as a legitimate threat. They would come after you, and make an intervention into Jupiter sphere. Their puppet king would be eager to provide assistance, no doubt."
She looked at the ship, with idle curiosity, between looking back at Marina.
"And besides... even assuming you manage to succeed in your hijacking attempt without losing half of your force in trying to do so... Who is going to man the new ship? It looks like it would need all the available crews you have on your 4 vessels to operate it. Not to mention the supporting structure to maintain it."
Ayla rubbed her chin.
"I may have a more... long-term solution."

" It is a declaration of war, dear Ayla. We promised you a revolution after all, don't tell me you thought we are just going to sit comfortably on exile and wait things out? I know things about the Federation that you don't. If this was a foolish plan I wouldn't have bothered coming up with it." Marina had thought she'd made it all very clear on the meeting the previous day.
" Its not like we're coming here right after the heist. Like I said I plan on taking my time eliminating anyone sent our way to retrieve their precious flagship. Size is a concern but I have ways to mitigate the logistic constraints that will come from having such a large vessel in our inventory and you won't have to lift a finger nor fret over anything." She could understand their hostess worry.
" The ships that we already have will remain here, I don't intend on losing anyone on this, believe me I have my own ways to get away with this. You just sit comfortably and go on with your life as you always have, let me get my hands dirty." It appeared that Ayla was under the false pretense she was the brain behind this revolution.

"A revolution, yes. Against the Jovian government. Not a declaration of war against the Federation."
Ayla replied astutely. She listened to Marina very attentively, and although the goals did not change, any explanation she offered was a mystery wrapped in enigma. The 'we have ways' was getting on her nerves, as she did not like to be kept in the dark and ... not know things. Especially when the plan presented to her was as sketchy as this one.
"Everyone thinks their plans are clever, until they are proven wrong. So far I see a plan to steal a ship we will not be able to sustain, a fight with the Federation we currently do not need, and a distraction from a more solid goal, that being placing our dear Citrio on the throne and basking in rewards that come with it." - the wary smile slowly turned into a very pleasant one. It seemed Ayla enjoyed thinking about that.
"I assumed that is what you seek. A new life of power and leisure in Jupiter, now that your attempt to achieve the same in the EF failed so spectacularly. But you seem almost hell-bent on pissing off the Federation when you should be glad their attention turned from your little mischief and towards greater problems."
She crackled her fingers, making eye contact.
"What is it that you want, Marina? Out of this entire operation. A glorious revolution? You don't seem the altruistic type fighting for the peoples' causes. So... what is it?"

" I am the one who convinced his highness to start this whole movement." When Citrio was exiled to earth, Marina had been the one who encouraged him to raise a rebellion from within Jupiter. It was unlikely Ayla knew how much money she'd spent financing those very same cells that at this same moment were conspiring from within the Gilliam household.
" I merely wish to drag the Federation last vestige of pride through the mud. I am not the kind of woman that takes humiliation lightly that's why I am going there myself. If I don't return Citrio will be here safe with you." There was no need to discuss strategy further so Marina went straight to answering Ayla's question. " Make no mistake, I am already a traitor to them. A little sin won't matter much at this point." Marina's fierce gaze matched Ayla's.

Ayla's gaze was far from fierce.
It was like lake in winter. Reflective, peaceful, and ... cold. Just like her polite demeanor. While cordial, it was also dismissive. She met Marina's objections like water meets flames. The little silent stand-off was held for a few moments, before she clapped her hands together, the crisp sound breaking the silent tension.
"I understand your desire to get back at the Federation, my dear. But it is much easier to throw challenges to an empire that spawns across several planets when one is in control of a similar entity, rather than being a group of rag-tag miscreants hoping to be too insignificant for the Federation to focus on. With our eyes on Jupiter, it would not be prudent to fight more than one enemy at the same time."
She sighed, placing her hands on the table again.
"However, in the off-chance my words of wisdom do not ring true for you, may I suggest another option? With the confrontation between Mars Zeon and the Federation escalating, perhaps it would be possible to pit them against one another even more than they are now. There is no need to disclose your true colors, as of yet. I am sure that if it appeared that Zeonic forces somehow reached the base and hijacked the ship, before vanishing into the vastness of space, it would infuriate and humiliate the EF, just as you want it to happen. While keeping their eyes away from you for quite some time. What do you say?"

Instead of arguing for much longer, Marina simply invited Ayla over inside one of the Clop Class cruisers now docked to the Asteroid their host had kindly loaned to them.
The internal hangar bay of the cruiser housed the RX-0 unit 3 in all of its glittery and ostentatious golden form. It stood a few extra meters taller than the average mass production suits that composed the Mao family private security forces.
" As long as you put a newtype in the cockpit training is very much optional. The Phenex has this neural interface that allows it to be controlled with the most basic mental command." This machine was packed with features that weren't often seen.
" Don't play coy with me, Ayla. I know you like your thrills." Marina found Ayla's coy attitude condescending at best.

"Oh my... So forceful... But very well. I'll indulge."
Ayla let herself be dragged off by Marina, into the hangar. In there, she gazed upon the golden-plated robot with a degree of interest and admiration. She did love the color Gold, it was expensive and noble. And the entire suit reminded her of a knight, or an angel, with those wing-like things attached to its back and all.
"My father did want me to be able to fly these... At some point he wanted me to become the Honor Guard to our Majesty. But that endeavor was short-lived. I had neither skill nor desire to become a glorified bodyguard. Despite being a... how do you say it, a New-Type?" - the woman shrugged, as Marina goaded her on 'thrills'. It was indeed quite boring signing papers all day... She clapped her hands together.
"Very well... I guess it would be ungrateful of me to not at least try to play with such an expensive toy. How does one get inside of it?"

" This is no mere toy, Ayla. it's a force multiplier. Very few mobile suits in the Federation arsenal match the RX-0 power. Unit 1 is in my control and the second model I lent to some of the most radical elements operating within Jupiter inner circles. This may come as a surprise to you but Rhys Gilliam daughter of all people supports our movement as well. I'll use her to assassinate her own father and in the midst of the power struggle we'll swoop by and dispose of any loose ends." Marina had no qualms sharing these gritty details in the safety of her own cruiser, after all the crew were loyal to her and if any of this info got out she would know Ayla was the leak.
The formally dressed blond woman propelled herself towards the Phenex torso, pointing at the hatch controls which needed it's own code to be accessed from the outside. The Phenex fighting compartment was roomy in order to fit an special chair that scanned the pilot's brain waves but also had the standard stick interface with throttles and switches. The HUD was integrated to the panoramic cockpit itself. " You might wanna wear an appropriate flight suit before pushing it to it's limits otherwise it'll turn your internal organs into slush the moment you get into an atmosphere with gravity." The one eyed blond woman would warn the younger girl before stepping inside the golden beast.

Ayla chuckled.
Marina was always so focused on the tactical. Force multipliers. Assassinations. Eliminations. Tying up loose ends. She was a warlord, who would prefer to rule through strength. Excellent in charge of a warband. But Ayla fancied herself as a governor. Her home was here, and she wanted to be able to govern it after the dust has settled, rather than picking up the pieces.
"Oh, I do not doubt your ability or resolve to end this rightly. What worries me is how to hold the gains achieved though your bold actions. But I digress..."
The woman clapped her hands. As if waiting for their moment, two servants emerged, bringing about the woman's personal pilot suit, and a portable curtain to undress behind of. "I would have preferred changing beforehand... but it was all so sudden..."
Eventually, the woman escaped the confines of her dress. The silhouette of her body appearing behind the curtain. She soon was enclosed in a skin-tight piloting uniform, which generously wrapped around her curves, while retaining an aura of class and femininity. Red, gold, and purple were its colors, with a helmet on top. Violet transparent glass over her face. With that, the woman would walk into the machine, and have the doors close behind her. Ayla seemed both impressed and a little unfamiliar with the layout.
"What do I do next..."

Marina remained outside, communicating with Ayla via a wireless head set. Upon sitting down on the cockpit the chair would immediately start scanning the young woman's unique newtype brain waves causing the cockpit display to lit up. There was this slight rumble as the system kicked in, a red light surrounding the chair and mere seconds later Ayla would be able to see quite literary out of the Phenex owns camera as if it they were her own eyes. She had this full third person view of the outside, being able to adjust it via thoughts alone.
" I told you it's unlike any other mobile suit that's come before." She would be able to plainly see Marina looking up at the RX-0. When it came to movements the Phenex articulated joints made her flesh and blood body seem sluggish by comparison. The camera display crisp and clear and with a greater resolution than mere human eyes but there was also this constant feedback that required constant focus. The system was sensitive and if not careful she could end up transmitting her own thoughts to any other newtype in the vicinity.

This was indeed an amazing feeling.
The moment Ayla sat in that chair, closed her eyes and concentrated, she felt her consciousness meld into the machine. The woman had excellent control of her mind, even though not trained to pilot such a vessel. But it came so ... naturally. The Phenex's eyes blinked red, as it moved forward, stepping out of the platform it stood on, moving unto the hangar floor. For a moment, the machine looked at its hands, opening and closing fists, articulating digits to see how responsive they were.
"Oh my... this is quite unusual. I feel as though I have a new body... With so many new things inside of me... Kufufu..." - the MS chuckled, its voice distinctly feminine, if distorted by the electronics of the vocoder.
"But how do I access these... abilities you speak of? Do I just think of them and make it happen?"
