| At the start of the one year war, he was a hopeless romantic who followed his own code of honor and chivalry. He always felt the most alive in the middle of battle risking his life for his love and his beliefs. An eccentric Ekkehard took up the guise of the Rozen Knight during the One Year War to mirror his world views. Hopeful, eager, ambitious, and an idealistic fanatic during the one year war he has slowly become more and more pragmatic and disillusioned with the progression of time. He has yet to become complacent though, as he looks towards the Earth knowing that those ideals that carried him through the war cannot be dead yet. He thinks of Catherine and what she would do, and how she always believed that Zeon would and always truly be Alive. |

| BIOGRAPHY |

Born to a family of Politicians in Side 3 Ekkehard Rosengarten lived a rather sheltered life. He resented the way his parents brought him up more and more as he grew older. To escape this he would constantly read books and tales of old, loving especially the stories of knights dragons, and fair maidens. It filled his imagination constantly. His parents being Politicians he heard all about Zeon Zum Deikun and his antics. The ideas of Side-Ism and Contolism filled his young mind, and he immediately began to combine the ideas from the stories he read with these thoughts. Then one day, when he and his family were going to watch Zeon Zum Deikun's live speech, and he died right there for the world to see. No longer would he have a sheltered life after that point, and his personality to be was cemented to come. He also knew at that moment who his dragon was, and it was the Federation. This all, of course, made sense in his young ten-year-old mind of course.
From there when he got his thoughts together he became the Rozen Knight and read a lot of Shakespeare much to the extreme annoyance of his parents. He would then once he was of age go to Officer School and become a mobile suit pilot. Mobile suits fascinated him endlessly, and he likened that first Zaku I he saw as to be like a Knight's own armor. It was in Officer's School that he met his dearest friends, one of whom was Catherine Albright. His eccentric attitude annoyed instructors and students alike, but Catherine and a few others liked him more for it.
Staring the One Year War under the direct command of his friend Catherine Albright within Garma Zabi's forces he participated in the Invasion of North America. In his White Custom Zaku II, he and Catherine ripped through over confident Federation Ground forces like they were tissue paper. It was here he would meet his nemesis whom he would encounter multiple times throughout the One Year War. While not ever learning his name, he could always tell whom it was by the way they fought and the insignia they put on their mobile suit. It was here however his own overconfidence was reinforced. It is also where he experienced the so-called joy of battle for the first time.
As the war went on Ekkehard Rosengarten would lose more and more comrades, but Catherine his inspiring leader always stayed. Though he began to become more worn down, especially after the news of Garma Zabi's death hit him. Indeed, things were seemingly becoming less idealistic by the day, but he kept a stiff upper lip. Even as the war seemingly slowly changed him from the inside out he never lost hope. He took part in multiple major points in the One Year War. He was at Granada, Tianems's Fleet, Solomon, and A Baoa Qu. Solomon and A Baoa Qu, as well as the news of Odessa, had the largest effects on him.
Along with multiple others during the battle of A Baoa Qu, he would escape on a Gwazine-class battleship, which he would eventually take command of due to the command structure having been killed during the battle itself or not having been given enough time to board. Regardless, he made sure the ship got directed to Axis far away from the eyes of the Federation. There he has been biding his time waiting to continue his war. |
