January UC0084 Side-3 Munzo Colony
One day while working at his post on the Axis asteroid, 20 year old junior officer Louis Marlow stumbled upon a blue haired beauty who had seemingly gotten lost due to her lack of familiarity with the asteroid layout. The young officer soon find out this girl was none other than Ayami Aika whom according to their current leader was a distant Zabi relative and now had become the new figure head for their independence movement. Louis eventually managed to join her care taker staff, having fallen in love with Ayami on first sight. Even though many claimed she was beyond his reach he still tried to strike up a conversation with Ayami whenever he could get away with.
One day, he approached her suggesting they would go to a trip to side 3 on a cargo ship under a false identity to not raise any attention to them. He assured Ayami that he'd gotten permission from vice admiral Rozengarten himself- the girl's primary guardian. It had been a few years since she'd arrived at the desolated asteroid in the middle of nowhere and while her accommodations where far from uncomfortable there wasn't a hell of a lot leisure activities for a 16 year old girl like her. In the time he'd talk to her he had come to know that just like any other girl of her age she was interested in fashion and side 3 was the closest place available for them.
Louis was not a fool, he knew the vice admiral had eyes on them as they disembarked from the shuttle, after all Ayami was too precious to leave in the care of a rascal like himself. Grinning, he would sneakily bring his arm around Ayami's shoulder as they got out of the docking bay and into the city shopping district.

Indeed, Ekkehard Rosengarten the Rozen Knight did in fact have an eye on them, for he did not trust Louis alone with Ayami. When he had been informed of what happened he ignored the apologizing officer in favor or heading out himself. Louis didn't realize it, but he was being tailed by another shuttle. Ekkehard could not under any circumstances make a big show out of this. He had to keep things quiet, for the Federation was not the only group he had to worry about. There were plenty within Zeon who would be more then pleased to wrest control of Ayami away from him. Thus, he could simply not allow this information get out that she was alone with only a single guard. A rather non nonchalant Rosengarten was loading rounds into his Webley Mk IV .38/200 Service Revolver. Then, after he finished he flicked the revolver close and holstered it inside his uniform, within a well hidden shoulder holster. A fake smile on his face as he would get up from his seat to depart the shuttle.

16-year-old Ayami Aika was trying to make her way around the asteroid, but she wasn't having much luck. Though she'd been there for a while up to that point, she'd been kept fairly sheltered. So when she eventually found an officer, she walked up to him and asked if he could help her find her way around. Despite what her role was meant to be, she was dressed fairly plainly and didn't really seem to stand out too much. When Louis helped her find where she was trying to do, she smiled and thanked him a few times before she went on her way.
After that, Ayami was happy to talk to Louis whenever the two happened to cross paths, though they didn't normally have much time. The teen was surprised when he invited her to go to side 3, using a false name and identity to get to walk around and explore more. It was easy to tell that she liked the idea, curious to see what it was like. But she wasn't sure at first, taking some convincing before she eventually agreed to the idea.
The blue-haired girl's eyes got bigger when she felt Louis' arm around her as the two left the docking bay, but she quickly had a smile on her face. She was excited to get to walk around and see the different shops there were.

Side 3 capital city of Munzo was a far cry from that seemingly backwards asteroid. A sprawling metro area littered with restaurants and all different stores. The city was hardly recognizable from itself during the war that ended mere four years ago.
" This city is a beacon of hope for our cause." Louis explained to the girl he now comfortably held in his arm. Even though they had lost the war, the Federation did not desecrate Munzo in anyway which further convinced the other remnant groups that autonomy from the world government was a possibility. Munzo was a city with a lot of war time monuments in remembrance of their fallen troops. People in other colony clusters and earth saw these monuments as problematic since they lionized war criminals but were still a great source of pride in the local population.
Of course Louis was not there to guide her trough the war museums but rather visit the girl's boutiques of which there were many. He was already thinking about buying her some things, girls hated cheapskates after all. " I'll buy her something nice. I just hope her tastes aren't too expensive ... " He almost went light headed when he saw the price tag on a designer purse.

Rosengarten would upon locating the two keep a fair distance from them an observe their movements not wanting to cause a scene. Side 3, a place he had once called home and where the Revolution had begun. Things had certainly changed here, but it wasn't that great of a surprise. The Republic of Zeon to him was a incredibly disappointing shadow of it's former self. He detested the apparent pro Earth Government, which he viewed as being in many ways a puppet of the Earth Federation. Though there was the view that of course they had a degree of autonomy. Even if it was true, that autonomy was slatted to end eventually. 'Traitors.' he thought as he kept on a fake smile to hide his displeasure at the thought. He sighed, feeling a bit worked up deciding to ease up a little. He had to concentrate on the task at hand, making sure that Louis didn't mess up.

When she first saw Munzo, Ayami's eyes were huge. Even growing up, she'd never seen a place like this. She tried to take it all in, but it seemed almost impossible. "Wow..." she said softly, staying next to Louis as the two of them walked through it. She looked up at him when he spoke about the city, looking out at it again. But it wasn't just the shops and buildings, but it was the people she found herself looking at. These were the people she wanted to help... her people. Seeing it all like this made the blue-haired girl feel a little nervous.
She looked at the monuments that had been erected when they were close enough to them, just amazed by everything she was seeing. It was almost all too much to try to take in at once. But as the two of them walked, they eventually made their way into a shop. "There's so much..." Ayami said as she looked around, not even sure where to start. They walked by some purses and, at first, she seemed almost fascinated by it. But then she saw the price next to it, and her eyes instantly got bigger. She didn't expect to see such a high price on it, quickly moving on to other things.

There was no way Louis would know the vice admiral of all people was now hot on their trail, he was too distracted paying attention to Ayami and their immediate surroundings. Eventually the two found their way to the season sale section and from here he would keep a respectful distance from the girl whenever she went to the changing rooms. There wasn't a whole lot of people at this time of the day so it would be easier to spot anyone trailing them, or so he thought.
On their way home they would take a cargo ship. Not a luxurious accommodation but it was that or nothing and he was certain Ayami would appreciate the chance to go out. All he had to do was see her safely but he had to be cautious.

Much like Louis, Ayami had no idea at all that the two of them were being followed by Vice Admiral Rosengarten while they were on their trip. She wasn't doing anything to stand out or draw attention to herself, but it was easy to see how much she was enjoying just looking around at all of the different sorts of clothes in the stores Louis took her to. It was a relief when they found the seasonal sale items, and the blue-haired girl was surprised when he offered to buy her a few things. She said he didn't have to do something like that for her, but he insisted. So the girl picked out a few things she liked and tried them on before making her final decisions.
Once their little trip was finished, they were back on a cargo ship to the asteroid. There was a smile on her face the entire time as she sat next to her guard. She didn't mind the kind of ship they were returning on at all. But after a day of walking all around, Ayami couldn't help yawning from how tired she felt.

Before they left, Louis had made up his mind about the bracelet he was going to buy Ayami. He knew what kind of colors she preferred to wear but he still had a hard time picking what he figured she'd like the best. He'd been hauling this hefty amount of girls clothes for his highness, after all it was a great honor in his eyes and it put him one step closer to likely win her over ... in the future.
Upon landing back in Axis after the long trip, Louis would report directly to his superior that he'd brought her back safely and have her escorted back to her residence. Louis would only get an stern talking, preferring to keep himself quiet and merely nodding his head to everything the vice admiral told him. He did not agree with the man over protective measures but at the same time knew he couldn't talk back to their commander.

Once their shopping was done, Ayami couldn't stop apologizing to Louis. She hadn't meant to get as much as she had, but there had been so many things that she liked. The blue-haired teen was very surprised when the guard gave her a gift that he'd gotten for her while she'd been looking at some clothes. It was easy to see how surprised she was, insisting that he hadn't had to get her something like that after everything he'd already done for her. But she thanked him several times, obviously liking his gift.
Once they had arrived back at the asteroid, Ayami said her goodbyes to Louis since he was going to report in and she was being escorted home. She thanked him again, a smile still on her face as she turned and started walking with the guard, holding the bag of clothes he'd bought for her close to her body.

A week later, Louis would once more approach Ayami once he could afford to find the time to do so. The vice admiral had him go on lenghty patrols as of late but in the black void of space he'd come up with an idea to once more relieve Ayami from the constant boredom. He led the girl to a mobile suit conservation depot deep inside the asteroid. This was the place where inoperable mobile suits awaited for repairs of maintenance which meant security was light. The guard who had known Louis for years simply let the two of them through. " Figured it wouldn't hurt to do a little sightseeing, my lady." The place was cavernous so it would prove to be wholesome evening stroll. There were a lot of mobile suits lined up on this section of the asteroid, some in serious disrepair while others looked more or less whole. He would take the blue haired girl in front of a MS-14A opening up the hatch so they could take a look inside. " Ever been inside a mobile suit before?" He wanted to show her the spacious interior which was kept fairly dustless within that vacuum sealed hatch.

Once she was home, life went on like normal for Ayami. She hardly ever even went outside, let alone doing something like she had with Louis. But it was always on her mind as she would remember the things she'd gotten to see for the first time. She was hopeful that she would see him again soon, but it seemed like the shifts he was on was making that harder to happen.
Finally, about a week after their day trip, she saw the familiar soldier and immediately greeted him. She mentioned that she'd felt a little bored, and he seemed to have an idea of where to go. She walked with him, wondering where it was he was leading her. Once they'd made their way down into the asteroid, easily getting passed the guard, she saw all the different mobile suits that were being kept there, each seemingly needing some amount of repair were. Some looked like they were almost fine, and others looked like it would be quite a while before they were operable again.
"I didn't even know this was here," she said, staying beside Louis as she looked up at the huge machines. She followed after the guard as he lead her toward the MS-14A, leaning in a little once he'd opened the hatch. "Wow..." she muttered, looking at everything inside. It all seemed so complicated to her. She looked back at him when he asked if she'd been inside one, quickly shaking her head. "Never. It seems so... scary," she said, taking a moment to find the word she wanted.

"There you are Princess! I've been looking all over for you!" a voice would call out from the direction they had just come from, a rather familiar voice. It was Ekkehard Rosengarten himself and his eyes were locked on Ayami, a relieved smile. Though then his eyes went to Louise and it shifted to a disappointed frown. He had passed by the guard with barely a word, not even considering them."I see that the 2nd lieutenant has taken it upon himself to show you the depot." he said crossing his arms breathing out a little."Ah, that Gelgoog looks to be in more or less good condition. You know..." he trailed off a little recalling the past."I piloted one of the first Gelgoogs? Gelgoog Commander Type they called them." his hand rested against the hull of the mobile suit before looking back to it."Louise." he said to get his attention."See if she will power up."

There was no denying that seeing the way she reacted made Louis time spent in Axis to be worthwhile. In this unending void at the very least he had her as their sole shining star.
Louis jumped a little when he heard the vice admiral voice echoing through the cavernous mobile suit storage depot. ' Damn! he wasn't supposed to be here ..." He quietly swore, already starting to sweat as he tried to find out a way to talk his way out of this. So far his superior sounded calm but he knew it was a facade he was only putting so Ayami wouldn't see that fierce side that could be quite scary.
" Sir ... " Louis went up to Ekkehard, saluting the senior officer first as it was customary. He would proceed to explain this Gelgoog was inoperable since it had a few parts that allowed it to move in need of replacement.
" I only intended to boot up the simulation program to show to our excellency." The blue haired teen junior officer mumbled apologetically.

The idea of piloting a mobile suit, and all of the things that went along with it, seemed very scary to Ayami. She hadn't even considered how much had to go into actually piloting it until now, as she looked at all of the controls inside. But getting to see it so up close like she was now made it actually seem... somewhat fascinating to her, as well. She had always been curious to learn about different things.
The blue-haired girl jumped a little as well when she heard a voice she recognized instantly, quickly turning around to see Ekkehard Rosengarten, her guardian, not far behind them. She smiled and was about to greet him when she thought about what he'd said. Her eyes suddenly got bigger, realizing what had happened. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to worry you," she quickly apologized, bowing her head a little. "Louis offered to show me the depot, and I got so excited that I.... I didn't think." It was easy to see that she hadn't meant to make the man worry. With her head bowed, she hadn't seen the look he had given Louis, completely unaware of the interaction between them before she looked back up.
"You did?" she asked when Ekkehard mentioned that he'd piloted a mobile suit similar to the one they were looking at. "What was it like?" she asked, looking toward the vice admiral, then back up at the Gelgoog.
