Native to Russia and born on Earth, her family had a long history of Military service and as such she joined one of the Federation Military Academys when she turned 18. She worked her way through, getting educated, moving up the ranks, and by the time the One Year War had erupted she was already a Lt. Commander. Due to her unit's success and the high amount of losses by ground forces during the early portion of the One Year War, it didn't take too long for her to move up to the rank of Captain. She earned her Alias not just from her family name, but because she seemed to survive deadly situations as well as Rasputin had in the past. She lost her eye to shrapnel while she was aiding a new federation mobile suit unit escape while in her tank. She also has a large scar on her back obtained in the war. Luckily there was no damage to her brain or spine which lets her continue on mostly as normal. As the battles shifted to space, so did her unit, they had already been training on the GM units that were provided for them. Most of her unit would continue to use various GM models throughout the war, but in the final battles of the war Ana received a Gundam type of her own, the Gunner Gundam, which had a optional full armor equipment loadout. By the end of the war she had grown tired of the assemblymen who were warmongering and pushing for even more conflict, and as such she actually ran a successful campaign to take the spot of the one from her Motherland. In UC 0082 she helped start and then chaired the Federation Survey Service, an Organization designed to collect data and documentation related to the One Year War from both the Federation and from Zeon. As she learned more and spent more time outside of the Military she started to think there would be much better solutions to things than the Titans, that there likely would have been better alternatives to the One Year War in general had the Zabis and the Assembly not been so hungry for conflict. She shared these views with some trusted confidants and was surprised when she had heard about a group forming, they called themselves the AEUG. She decided that she would help out this group that sought to change things. She left her spot in the assembly and rejoined the Federation Military, she formed a unit made up of some old members of her past units she could trust, and would use her connections in the military and the assembly to help those from Axis and other groups get into the Federation, preparing for a day her ship and unit can break off and join the AEUG. She has since she rejoined the Military had a prototype Ocular implant stuck where her lost eye was, it is kept under the eyepatch most of the day as using it too much causes massive headaches, but when it is active it provides her with better targeting and visual reaction.
