Somewhere within Martian airspace
The Federation battle group still held a handful of outposts in mining asteroids scattered around Mars. After a couple of weeks numerous attempts had been made at dislodging the Federation small garrison manning one of such strategically important positions. Their forces there were composed solely by two Rezel's, a Gustav Karl and a RX-94 Mass production type Nu Gundam. This unit was led by lieutenant Eva Angelina Cordova whom had already proven herself since the very start of hostilities earlier that same year, at this point she'd already gotten a taste of what the Martians were capable of. After all from her group of ten pilots only two of them remained.
Several kilometers away from them sat the Saarland far from the outpost sensors coverage. Captain Isami Aika figured the best course of action would be to stage a surprise attack to take it as swiftly as possible. His unit had built a reputation of getting the job done quickly and efficiently. He also knew a drawn out attrition fight would only end up favoring the Federation forces.
When they all sat at the officer dinning table that evening, Isami himself would brief Alphonse on the situation at hand. " I got another job for you, Al." He obviously knew that the Ensign had gotten himself a modified RF Gouf since their last time on Deimos. It was truly the best possible outcome he could have asked for, not wanting one of his best pilot to go into battle using something he wasn't entirely familiar with.
" We know they are making full use of their defensive positions so charging head on is out of the question. We'll employ a decoy and you'll be the counter stroke that will cripple their exposed flanks and with some luck knock out their commander." If they could get rid of the officer leading that defense in her Gundam then it was likely the rest of the Federation forces would abandon the fight or outright surrender.

Al stood at attention as he listened to the briefing. It seemed like Al was the go-to for a specific type of mission, not that he minded, a full-scale battle seemed daunting compared to the operations he'd been a part of. He was quite eager to take his new modified Gouf out for a test flight, he'd only been able to run a couple of smaller jaunts and simulations to test it, but this would be a proper way to see what it could do. "Alright sir, I'll see this mission through as quickly as possible to minimize damages."
" I-is there any distinction between kill and capture for the mission?" Upon receiving an answer he'd casually salute and head down to the hanger. Once suited up, still just a generic pilot suit, he'd make his way to the cockpit of his new suit.
" Mobility pack good to go?" He'd as the deck mechanic who responded with an affirmative. He was going to go and strike fast, he didn't want to give his federation opponents time to grasp the changes made to the suit he was piloting. He'd then be situated comfortably in the cockpit as he waited for launch clearance, he knew the others would launch first and he'd head out after to move around the flanks. He was taking a Beam rifle for ranged options, along with a solid Gouf model shield and the vast melee armaments. One word on the unit and a second mounted in the shield.

" Do what you must. Destroying the enemy offensive capabilities is your top priority but if you can capture their commander that could also prove useful." Isami rubbed his chin, answering with his radiant confidence. The young captain had no qualms taking prisoners since dead men tell no tales. Once again, he would leave the briefing room last, heading over to the lockers to get changed into his second skin, that uniquely colored visor being the only way to distinguish himself as the commander.
" I leave my ship in your care, Lucia." He would bid farewell to his lover over the comm line. He had no intention of dying out there but the possibility of it was certainly out. Running diversion was a dangerous task, one most Zeonic officers would see as below them but the way Isami saw it he was the most fit for such unsavory duty even if at times he acknowledged it was irresponsible he didn't want to be held accountable for getting any of his subordinates killed.
Two Rebawoos painted in two tone dark green deployed ahead, followed by Isami's gray and yellow Doven Wolf fully armed with a shield and it's own unique beam rifle.
---
Approximately an hour later the first exchange of fire began in earnest. The Rezel's had begun getting into a long range stand off with their Bawoo escorts. Isami had awaited until the Rezels were focused on the others to harass them with a dense micro missile barrage, hoping to score a few hits.
Deeper into the asteroid field the Gustav Karl and MP Nu awaited, maintaining situational awaress. Both were armed with long range weaponry and were deployed over a wide area but close enough to support each other in a pinch. The EWAC Jegan maintained constant watch over their airspace, knowing someone would try to sneak in from behind.

The Asteroid field made for a great battlefield, and one that seemed more familiar. The prospect of cover that could be looped in and out of and even used actively was something Al thoroughly enjoyed. He was currently weaving in an out of smaller debris while he looped himself around the fighting. He didn't want to take too long to finish his mission, the captain was the one running interference after all.
With speed far greater than one would expect from a Gouf Model suit he began to loop into the target area, quickly scouting before darting amidst cover. Debris afforded cover to mask movement and help hide trails, but it wasn't perfect, that's the reason he was opting to keep so distant. It was in keeping so distant that Al found something he wasn't expecting.
"Is that a suit?" Al remarked to himself as a secondary display locked on a still of what looked like a Jegan it wat was a more clear area. "Well shit, if that thing's out here scanning whose to say it ain't already seen me?" Al growled under his breath realizing what he expected to be an easier flanking attempt just got more complicated.
"Guess the primary target will have to wait a little longer, can't have eyes and ears seeing everything I do now can I?" Al then rocketed to a better position before taking a position to one of the Jegan's flanks, rifle primed as he moved to get eyes and take aim on the target. If it was still relatively unaware of his exact location he'd line up his shot and fire, a direct hit should take care of it. If the Jegan had mannaged to track him then he'd have to alter this plan.

Jacob had barely finished his time with Eva aboard the admiral’s ship when the order to combat stations was announced. It was by dumb luck he had been piloting his Jegan when the summons had arrived in the first place.
Refueled and fully equipped, his Jegan had been one of the first to launch and then he had been rerouted to a position on the force’s perimeter. In truth the newly promoted lieutenant junior grade would have preferred otherwise but as things were there was no way anyone could afford to rest just yet.
Something was playing on Jacob’s mind as he watched flashes in the middle distance. It was probably combat. As much as he hated to admit it, the Zeons really knew the perfect time to strike a second blow. There had hardly been time to pick up the pieces but that wasn’t what was bothering him. Something felt wrong with this attack and he shifted nervously in his cockpit and readjusted the position of his Jegan’s subarm mounted shields reflexively, unawares of the mobile suit not far from his position. Giving into a hint of nerves, he swept the nearby wreckage with the barrel of his beam carbine, looking for places he would attack from himself. The barrel of his rifle passed directly by the point where the zeon mobile suit.

There would be a bright flash from the Gouf's beam rifle as a shot of energy streaked toward the Jegan unit. Al immediately fired thrusters and launched amidst other debris, his position would absolutely be compromised now, and he needed to get a better vantage for his next move. If he could get in close he would likely have an edge, but the cover and utility of the debris field was certainly a boon.
As he dashed between cover he scanned for glimpses of his target, to see how his shot had fared and what his target was up to. A faint grin had snuck onto his face as he began to grow eager for a chance to actually partake in some action. His Newtype powers begining to spark and flare, still untrained and unreliable. He was ready to take another shot should the opportunity arise.

Tenrov had found himself thrust into a rather uncomfortable position when the third raid against the Federation forces had been announced. He had barely managed a few hours sleep following a long day and then was summoned to expect launch orders during the upcoming sortie. He had been one of the few pilots to sit out of both previous two and it was his turn to take part in the spearhead. His orders were simple, target and engage the Nu Gundam that had given the last party so much trouble. He considered it easier said than done, even with his Zaku II Late Type; the new machine he was working on was still undergoing testing and whether or not it was fit for combat had yet to be ascertained.
He grumbled to himself in the cockpit of his machine, slightly disbelieving his orders. Even if mass produced a Gundam was not exactly a simple opponent and here he was being told to square off against one by himself. “The captain said he’d have my ass over this if I screw this up. Something tells me he meant literally...” he muttered to himself before shaking the idea from his head. It had crossed before but at this point it was just a distraction. The machine was visually very similar to the regular Zaku III barring a few changes to the exterior armor and a different backpack but that was deceptive. In truth the Late Type and it’s beam machine gun was a significant improvement over the base unit.
