This is a forum RP where we don't shy away from mature content. Registered users need to be over 18.
1.- PVP is only to be conducted when there are an even number of players taking part in the thread.
2.- During combat against other players all participants are to take damage as they see fit. Giant robots are large targets and despite being propelled by tonnes of thrust are still not capable of out running projectiles moving faster than the eyes can see. This doesn't mean all damage needs to be fatal and damage inflicted to each suit can be easily repaired or be seen as an excuse to get into another mobile suit. We're dealing with war machines here and those get chewed up all the time, particularly during combat operations.
3.-You cant dodge something you cant see (snipers), you cant dodge something at point blank (gun to chest). that being said, keep the amount of attacks in each individual post limited to what can be accomplished. Players are discouraged from firing all of their weapons at the same time and beam rifle shots are limited to three per post.
-Snipers can only engage targets from afar with the aid of an Ewac type unit or spotters.
4.- Having a newtype character doesn't exempt you from rule number 2 or 3.
5.- Players decided when and if their characters die. Ejecting, surrendering or being heavily injured are the three options given to those who get shot down in combat but it doesn't have to result in fatality.
6.- If a map is provided for the combat thread then each square on the grid is always 1 square kilometer. The Maximum range of a mobile suit is one square and a half ( 1500mt) when not under direct fire. Transformable mobile suits can move further up to an additional 900 meters.
7.- Remote weapons ( bits, funnels, etc.) can be deployed in pairs at most. Once deployed the host mobile suit cannot conduct any offensive action ( Firing its main armament save from swinging its saber) and won't be able to move as freely since deploying and moving the funnels require exceptional focus on the part of the pilot. They can be easily destroyed by rapid fire weapons like vulcans or any other machinegun and are generally much slower than missiles. You can only fire one funnel once per turn. The Fin funnels barrier cannot stop beam sabers or large caliber physical ammunition. Armor piercing kinetic rounds, shrapnel and airburst can still go through it. Funnels and bits also cannot redock to their host suit and run out of power after two turns upon being deployed.
8.- Certain maps have terrain features( hills, ground elevations, valley's, large enough chunks of asteroid or space debris) That could be used as cover. Players are not allowed to perform and offensive action and immediately leap into the safety of cover.Secondly, hills and natural terrain features will no longer provide indefinite protection, beam weapons and large caliber guns will deform the terrain and go through after the first shot.
Moving from cover to cover will inevitably leave your 20 meter-fifty plus ton giant robot exposed to incoming fire.
- This is not an official rule per say but any mobile suits will weight more than 60 tonnes with their full combat load out. It has been noted that the weight listed in MAHQ and the wiki's are all over the place since the MS designers know diddly dick about combat machines and how heavy ordnance is supposed to be. Miniature suits will be at their lightest 50 tonnes while things like Zaku IIs will be over 80 tonnes and of course the more weapons you add to custom the more weight it will have to the point it can and will affect the performance and resilience of your MS.
