The Reyes family lived in idyllic remove preserved for the wealthy. As a boy, Crisanto thought little of want and even less of politics. In the cloistered community, preoccupations like honor and ambition took up ever more attention. That suited Crisanto’s somewhat philosophical bent. He excelled in his studies and was preparing for a comfortable life in the study of hydrology and advanced water reclamation. The first step on a ladder to ascend the great bureaucracy into posts of prestige.
The bombing of Tibet changed everything. Reactivating the fault line of a major tectonic plate, the subsequent string of earthquakes and tsunamis caused widespread suffering. Jun’s family, like many they would not have imagined brushing shoulders with even a month prior, found themselves refugees. His career scuttled, family impoverished, and the world in chaos, for once it seemed obvious what he should do. He enlisted in the Earth Federation’s Mobile Suit Corps to end the scourge of Zeon once and for all.
