Name: Jove Quentin Alias/Nickname/Callsign: Courier Rank: Ship's Captain Genetic Status/Specialized Race: Newtype Gender: Male Age: 23 Date of Birth: October 15th, U.C. 0088 Height: 180 cm (5’ 11”) Weight: 65 kg (145 lbs) Blood Type: O + Nationality/Ethnicity: Jovian Affiliations: Jupiter Fleet & Anaheim Electronics PERSONALITY & TRAITS Jove is mildly impulsive, stubborn, and loud which the EFSF tried to beat out of him as soon as he entered the service. The reason he joined the EFSF in the first place is that Jove is an adventure seeker, which when combined with a stubborn and impulsive nature is what lead him to join. It was sort of a heat of the moment deal, and while he gained useful experience he somewhat regretted joining halfway through. Indeed, his nature does sometimes lead him to make choices that he might regret later on. However, Jove is very proud, both of himself and his forged identity thinking highly of both. So if asked about his experience he would say he would do it all over again, as he is proud of who he is and the time he spent. Jove is also rather social, though perhaps not always the best at reading a social situation. But he certainly does try, and it would get boring just sitting alone and not interacting with the people around. Though leading into this he sometimes has trouble figuring out another person's point of view, not to say he is incapable but his nature makes it difficult. This has thankfully lead to him learning to be observant when he can so that he can pick up on details. He has also in a short amount of time become somewhat suspicious and paranoid of Earthnoids and other outsiders. |
BIOGRAPHY |
"Sometimes when the opportunity presents itself you have to act." Jove Quentin was born into a Wealthy Spacenoid Family, which was comprised of so-called new money. His father prior to the One Year War was a Port Worker who worked from the bottom up, saving money. They invested that money into Anaheim Electronics before the start of the war and made loads of money once it started. Instead of spending that wealth they reinvested in the Jupiter Fleet, which over the course of the war earned him more and more wealth. Having feet in both Anaheim Electronics and the Jupiter Fleet his father got married and was seemingly set. Though they would continue to reinvest portions of their funds this slowed down between conflict, and thus he became a thrifty man. On October 15th, U.C. 0088 Jove was born, and he was named after the source of much of their families wealth. His parents were very proud of him, and very encouraging of Jove as he grew up. Their style of parenting only assisted in the forging of his personality. Jupiter would become a point of fascination for Jove growing up, which was only reinforced by his parents and those around him. The stories he heard ignited his imagination, and while he was pretty much given whatever he wanted Jove wanted something else. He wanted adventure, which is why to the dismay of his parents he joined the EFSF after having seen a recruitment poster. Refusing to change his mind and leaving his confused parents behind he was shipped off. It was while in the EFSF where he first learned he was a New Type, and where he learned how to operate a mobile suit. While he did get to see many amazing sights, he would look back to Jupiter and feel as if something was missing from this. Jove would also come to suspect that when it came to light that he was a new type, that his superiors began to treat him differently. It did not help that he had a hard time adjusting to the military life. He also had to keep his feelings of Jovian Independence to himself as the crackdown on anti-Earth Federation organizations was in full effect this close to Earth. He had not joined the EFSF out of loyalty, but for his own reasons. It was in the middle of his EFSF contract that he would receive the news that his parents died in a tragic transport accident. Having inherited their wealth he would leave the EFSF at the end of his contract. After that, he did not really have a sense of direction and spent a couple of months trying to figure out what to do. However, upon seeing a decommissioned and stripped Columbus-class ship for sale he had an idea. Unlike his father he would not reinvest in money in shares or stocks, instead, he would join in on the trade. It sounded good in his head, and he had the money to follow through. Thus he bought the Columbus-class, which before had been doomed to become scrap. With that, he went about the process of having it restored to operational condition. Following up on his father's contacts he would negotiate to become an Affiliate of the Jupiter Fleet, as obviously he could not compete with them. However, the risk involved in transporting goods especially Helium 3 meant that he needed some armaments. So he would follow up on some contacts in Anaheim Electronics to get what he needed. One of the acquisitions he would make would be that of the MSN-03-2 Psyco Geara Doga. It had been a part of an incomplete order and was too good of a deal to pass up on. With the equipment all being lined up, all that was left was to assemble a crew. He would manage this offering rather good pay to boot. Once everything was in order, he was ready to set out. |

Unit Type: Space Transport Ship
Developer: Earth Federation
Height: 55 m

Width: 110 m
Propulsion: 8 × rocket engine
Description:
"Evolved from an earlier class of twin-hull Assault Lander employed to carry its troops and land-based equipment, the Columbus-class Space Transport Ships are of the Earth Federation's fleet and were created to keep the space fleets supplied while they were not in action. Columbus-class ships were successful in this role, but many of the vessels were commandeered by the space fleet commanders for use as makeshift mobile suit carriers during the One Year War, as their large pair of cargo bays were well suited for carrying large volumes of material. However, unlike its earlier iteration, each Columbus-class ship had no armaments and were completely unprotected without an escort.
During the One Year War, the hit-and-run tactics employed by the Principality of Zeon's mobile suits devastated the Earth Federation's ships, which were ill-equipped to fend off the small and agile mobile weapons. With the Earth Federation's introduction of the RB-79 Ball, it became necessary to convert ships to support these mobile weapons. Many of the Columbus-class supply ships were converted to carry and resupply Balls in their hangars
Once the Earth Federation began fielding mobile suits, the Columbus-class vessels were converted again to carry the RGM-79 GM within their hangers. The underside of the Columbus-class was converted so that multiple GMs could hook up and be refueled and resupplied quickly during major battles, such as the Battle of Solomon and the Battle of A Baoa Qu."
