Jupiter Sphere

Rhys Gilliam sat in his home office staring at the door leading into the office. He was patiently awaiting the arrival of someone who would be able to help them solve the issues at hand. As it turned out Mars was a bigger issue then he has originally suspected. His accusation that the terrorist who had hit the fuel depot was Zeon in nature was dismissed. While they knew it was plausible they believed the local forces could handle it. For the time being Rhys and his government were on their own, which was fitting of the Jupiter Sphere but frustrating non the less. In order to address the situation at hand he needed someone to head the effort. That someone was to be be experienced with the necessary skills, and that someone was to be Captain Beornheard.

Gero had recently arrived in the Jupiter Sphere, fulfilling his duty as a part of the supply fleet's defense. At the moment his crew was granted leave in shifts until his return from a most curious meeting. It would take some time to fully load the Jupitiris in any case. Once Gero had finished setting everyone up with their instructions, he and Karen left for the meet.
Needless to say, Gero was a bit nervous but more-so curious. It wasn't every day the leader of the Jupiter sphere called on you specifically to meet him, privately, in his own home. He could only imagine what such a person could want with him. While Karen waited elsewhere, Gero was brought to the office and shown inside. As the door closed behind him, Gero bowed his head a moment before speaking. "Gero Beornheard, sir. Captain of the Ra Gulus of the Earth Federation Space Forces." he said clearly. "Though I assume you know all that already, having gone through the trouble of calling me here. How can I help you, Mister Gilliam?"

Rhys smiled as Gero entered the office having shown up about on time."Yes, I do indeed know all that. But please, take a seat." he would say motioning to the chair in front of his desk. Once he had taken a seat Rhys would look at the man for a moment."As for what you can help me with..." he said straightening up in his seat."I have a problem, one which a man of your experience and skills can help me with." he would say."A problem that no only effects me, but will effect the Earth Sphere if left to fester." he would add as he got to the point."In my government, and in the JSDF there is a growing corruption. A corruption which has enabled terrorists to begin making strikes. Possibly both the corruption and the terrorists having a connection to Zeon. I need to purge the Jupiter Sphere of these disrupting elements that threaten the delicate balance. But to do that, I need someone like you to head the effort." he would say unloading a lot all at once.

"Mmmm." Gero grunted and leaned forward in his seat, listening intently to Rhys as he explained his situation. "I see. I think I can gather what you're getting at--what could happen." he said sitting back up. Gero thought to himself for a moment, about the worst-case scenario and what he could do along the way to prevent it. After that pause he nodded silently, making his decision. "I would be honored to help, sir, I just want to make sure of one thing: is the Federation going to be officially involved from this point on?"

Rhys would say nothing for a moment."A very good question." he would say simply."They believe this at the moment to be an internal matter. Though of course it is a concern to them. But, at the moment they do not have much in the way of resources that they can spare." he said alluding to the Mars conflict."It is unfortunate. But..." he would say with a pause."If a direct connection to Zeon was formed with the terrorist attack, and the enablers then it may be a different story."
