At a surface level Izumi acts like a very reserved and mild mannered young lady. She tries to go with the flow most of the time, not daring to speak out of order and constantly apologizes for the slightest things.

| BIOGRAPHY |

Izumi's father was an Axis loyalist that traveled to Mars after the first Neo Zeon war. Her mother a simple woman of Japanese descent with an engineering background. Izumi's childhood was not without it's hardships, and she would be pressed to start working as early as her teens to help put food on the table despite being the sole child thanks mostly to the harsh economic conditions imposed by the Federation. One day when Izumi was 12, an skirmish between space pirates and the local defense forces erupted. The colony where the Aika lived became a battleground and a stray beam rifle shot vaporized part of their home, killing her parents instantly. Along with her brother Isami, she was taken in by their aunt Veronica who was a fierce advocate for spacenoid rights and a close ally of Isabel Brandt.
Unsurprisingly, the two siblings mourned the passing of their parents for years with Izumi becoming more withdrawn as the time went by, it also didn't help that her brother became over-protective of her which lead to her becoming increasingly dependent of his approval and support. After graduating fro basic education, she was convinced to join the newly formed Martian Forces as a reservist on the home guard, piloting a Geara Zulu.
One day, orders came informing Izumi she'd been transferred to one of their "Elite" units that bore the name of Haman Karn. Said unit was under the command of Captain Charlotte Nightingale who'd picked her after sustaining heavy casualties repelling an attack on the Olympus railgun.
