Dirty Deeds

As one would have guessed it didn't take an awful lot for Lt. Nakajima to find her partner.

" You must be Hiro. I am Lt. Misaki Nakajima. I'll be your wing mate from now on." Misaki's introduction was brief and composed, bowing with her head slightly and respectfully to him more out of courtesy than anything else. I wasn't accustomed for Japanese to shake hands after all, at least not between themselves. There was a glimmer of curiosity in those ruby eyes as she looked at him.

" Is this your first deployment? Since we're a attack element we should probably start working in our coordination. I pilot a Delta type myself." She would inquire with a hint of a sly smirk though that was only her default expression. Their squadron had been handpicked from transformable MS units in order to emphasize speed and aggression.

" Sounds like a tempting offer." Misaki was interested in the idea of going for a ride in the Strike Zeta, not having had any time behind the control stick of one. While it was true the Delta was a cousin machine, the smirking Japanese beauty was sure there would be plenty of subtle differences in their handling characteristics.

" Well for once i'd like to know what type of pilot you are, trying to find a synergy of sorts whenever we go in for an attack on a defended target. I for once like it if we're in constant communication calling enemy activity as we see it." Misaki approach to having a new partner was quite pragmatic in a sense. Since they were scheduled to deploy quite soon she proposed going to the hangar to prepare.

Fifteen minutes later she would come out of the changing room now wearing a standard normal suit complete with helmet and a side arm holstered in her ankle. In the hangar bay of the Ra Cailum aside form the Strike Zeta and Delta Plus there were also a variety of Rezel types. As indicated by their superiors earlier the purpose of this formation was to strike swiftly and decisively after all.

" That's good! We need analytical minds out there." Misaki was not surprised her new partner hadn't seen a real battle before, after all most of them lacked practical combat experience. She'd only sortied against a hostile contact once but it had been nothing to write home about, otherwise she would have been far more smug about it. So far there was no reason for her to think this was anything but a simple combat deployment, their first official one for certain but she couldn't imagine what was about to happen after they were ordered to launch.

The raven haired girl would put her helmet on, floating towards the Delta Plus in all of it's drab, depressing gray glory. Once armed, the mobile suit would be moved in front of the catapult, given permission to launch and then jettisoned into the dark corners of space. The mobile suit would transform into it's waverider mode afterwards, circling around the ship for her partner to form up.

It was only after he launched that they received an encoded transmission from their commander at the Ra Cailum's bridge. He explained to them the real objective behind this mission was to find and apprehend a group of former EF personnel who had gone rogue a few months ago. Said rogue unit was none other than Marina Von Witzland 'Dragoons' which were well known within the Federation Space Forces. Last year they had launched a daring raid on the Martian railgun which had earned Marina a promotion and a certain degree of fame and now she was an outlaw with a price on her head.

Misaki felt very conflicted now realizing they were not only going after a former comrade but also that Marina's unit was made of far more experienced pilots.

" Please remain calm. This is clearly for real so we can't afford to mess around either." While it was true they were a bunch of rookies now tasked with taking on an experienced adversary she figured there would be ways to compensate for their deficit in pure combat prowess.

" If their group went rogue then we definitely have the advantage in numbers. it's not going to be pretty or glorious but I think we have a shot at this." Misaki assumed that the rogue Commodore forces were scattered and low on resources which meant it was possible to overwhelm with pure attrition. The Dauntless radio operator would then direct them over to an asteroid facility which had been taken by these rogue elements. The pair was soon joined up by an EWAC Jesta that went by the callsign "Magic"

The electronic warfare officer in command of the EWAC Jesta spoke with a midwest American accent, clearly female as well. " Alright we got what appears to be a pair of Geara Dogas guarding the base perimeter. These machines were in fact modernized PMX-0005 Bredas but the computer automatically tagged them as Geara types since it was what they resembled the most. Their location would be displayed on Misaki's and Hiro's HUD once data link with their scout machine was established.

The two rebel mobile suits were equipped with long Beam Smart guns of the type fielded by the Federation, a pair of panzerfausts complimenting their Saber and vulcan basic load out.

"" You think you can take on these two by yourself?" Misaki would inquire with a not so subtle hint of disbelief. Since they were still far from the maximum range of their weapons there was no use wasting ammunition. The Delta Plus in it'd waverider mode went pass Hiro's Strike Zeta as it reverted to MS mode

The pair of Bredas also had their own EWAC machine behind their perimeter. This one was a Jegan EWAC painted in standard Space forces gray. As they drew closer to the rebels held position it became harder to get a solid lock on.

" They are using jammer, watch out." Magic advised. If they dared to get even closer then their own comms would be blocked effectively disrupting their coordination. The Bredas weren't planning on staying idle for long enough, getting into position behind asteroid cover to intercept the fast movers bearing on them. 

The small asteroid was torn asunder by the beam blast from the Zeta's launcher, sending flying debrie flying in every direction. A good portion of it peppered the Breda frontal armor but it was much better armored than a Geara Doga at least from the front.

Hiro would soon be greeted by a Panzerfaust rocket at near point blank which the Breda had fired once he'd gotten much closer. Just like Magic had warned them, the jammers were now blocking their communications entirely. Misaki Delta Plus was now engaged with the other Breda as their fight turned into one of constant positioning.

Magic being their EWACs decided to stay in the side lines and providing support by keeping them updated in whatever movement the enemy made.
